Basic Job Description:
The Underwriter/Analyst is primarily responsible for financial analysis and completion of a loan presentation for appropriate approval. The Underwriter will process a loan request, load for funding request and transfer to the Loan Administrator for closing
Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist Business Development Officer in preparation of loan package, assist in receiving term sheets and/or conditional commitment letters;
• Obtain complete underwriting package from loan prospect, including all commercial or program-specific forms and applications;
• Possibly Order and review credit reports on individual Borrowers / Guarantors;
• Prepare loan presentation using approved underwriting forms;
• Prepare program eligibility worksheet, if applicable;
• Assist Business Development Officer in presenting loan to appropriate approval authority and various banks
• Order and review tax transcripts for Borrowers if applicable / Guarantors and prepare a memo to address any discrepancies;;
• Interface with Commercial lenders or program lenders / assist Business Development Officer in the interface during bank review/approval of loan packages;
• Assist Business Development officer in the collection of construction-related documents and submission to third.
Minimum Required Skills:
• Experience or training as an analyst
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of Excel
